There are days where I feel like I am not where I am supposed to be. Inevitably, there are moments where I feel stuck. Dealing with the brokenness in my heart and the emptiness that I carry around. I also know that no matter the places I have gone or the depths I am in God is able and willing and in Him restoration is not only possible but it is also His promise.

I often find myself caught up in a season of waiting. You know the kind — why won’t God just give you what you want? There are long periods of time when it seems like I have nothing to offer Him. My energy is spent, my drive is limited, and my passion falls flat. As Christians, I am here to remind you to not resent times like this. Instead, let’s make an intentional effort to see the God-moments that He has orchestrated here, now, and go back to our original purpose:

And now, as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Colossians 2:6-7

Christian-living is much more than a title and is a lot easier said than done.

So then, what does ‘living for Christ’ mean? It means staying out of our future and leaning toward God’s constant peace in the present. It means learning how to seek His comfort and joy in the day to day, little tasks. It means recognising His mercy, despite the countless amount of times we are tempted by sin.

At our lowest, God still never leaves our side. Real talk — circumstances do not determine whether or not He is good. He is always good, and His grace will find us every single time. However, the number one thing which we’re called to do is love God, and in order for us to do that, we have to first know that He loves us. We love because He first loved us — by that logic, humans were created out of love, to be loved, and to then love. We weren’t called to do things for God to get Him to love us.

I am a damaged person. I struggle with my faith. I regularly notice myself having tough days, but if there’s anything I have learnt about the Lord, it is that I can run to Him in my mess, and He will exchange it with His kindness and truth.

In each season, I will praise Him.

No matter how broken you are, no matter the places you have gone, it is worth the journey to get to your promise. Living for Christ allows us to rest assured that He will restore everything you thought you had lost.

Friends, remember to continue your life with God and cling to the fact that restoration is His promise, and can be fulfilled through living for Him.
