The summer heat can be hard to bear
Tough times for good people just doesn’t seem fair
The Australian summer seems intent on suffocating life
Drought, flood, fire, illness – continued strife
Yet the Lord watches over me and is my shade at my right hand1

Autumn leaves change colour and fall across the land
Changes all around me – what can stay the same?
Fear always surrounding but there is peace in God’s name
Amongst all the things I don’t know, His love is what I do know
Lord, please weed my garden bed that in You I may grow

Winter days are short and the nights are long
My weakness reminds me that God is strong
If I hadn’t been in darkness how’d I know I need His light?
He is my comforting warm fire on the coldest night
When my spirit grows faint within me, God knows my way2

Frost dissolves, dew refreshes – night turns to day
Spring flowers, green grass and singing birds testify of God’s care
He has placed a song in my heart that I can’t help but share
Blue sky and warming golden sunshine bring a smile to my face
We have all received one blessing after another from the fullness of His grace3
