She cried and wailed to him through the night
Unashamed about her plea for a child
She stood unwavering, despite her impending sentence
Fought for her heritage, her people, her life

She knelt lowly, and not one ounce was wasted
Of tears or perfume on the feet of her Master
She believed firmly and risked it all
A red ribbon in the window that remained firm

She waited patiently for her true love
Fourteen years of hope and faithfulness
She trusted earnestly, despite what little she had
In addition, for that God rewarded her generously

She walked with one who shared her grief
In compassion and love their friendship blossomed
She sat eagerly at the feet of the king
And knew the importance of his teachings and words.

Now we stand on the shoulders of these Pioneer women;
The qualities they exemplified in their lives:
Strength, Courage, Humility, Beauty, Compassion, Servitude, Wisdom, Honor
