Dear God,
Thanks for twenty-nineteen
You know what this year was like for me
At times I found it easy
But I also faced a harsh reality
Everyone I know
All had ups and downs
We had highs and lows
With smiles and frowns
But throughout all our setbacks
And tough tribulations
You were there for the mishaps
Not just the celebrations
You know our every move
You know us better than even we do
So as this year is reviewed
I wanna make sure I’m trusting you
Tonight as I mentally
Prepare for twenty-twenty
And remember twenty-nineteen
I wanna remember everything
Not just the good times
Not just the smiles
I want to remember
The struggles and trials
Because every mistake
And bad choice that I’ve made
Was a lesson taught by you
To make me who I am today
So I guess at the end of the day
Or decade in this case
I really just wanted to say
As this next year
Flies quickly by
