Dear Heavenly Father,
God, you are mighty, and your ways and thoughts are far above my own. I cannot even fathom your power or your goodness. I praise your name for you are the only one worthy of my love and affection. There is no other like you.
Thank you for always loving me even when I feel like I am not enough. Thank you for giving me an identity in you and for telling me who I am. Thank you for taking the time to listen to and care for me. You, who spoke the universe into the existence, choose to speak into my life. Thank you for bringing me safely through last year, God and for showing up when I needed you the most.
God, I feel you calling me into this next year. I’m terrified of what it will hold but ready to see you move. I pray that you help me. Let me grow closer to you. I want to dedicate every moment of my life to you. Please make every moment of my life a living sacrifice which is pleasing to you. Please help me to accept the positions and situations you call me into knowing that you are going before me.
God, please create in me a clean heart. Please help me to shine your love wherever I go. God, I pray that you take away my foolishness, my anger, my pride and my jealousy. I pray that you give me wisdom and discernment in my thoughts and actions. Please help me to remember that nothing I achieve is of my power, but it is you working through me. Please remind me always that life is better with you in it.
Please help me to grow in my relationships with my family and friends. Please help me to do what others need me to do and say what others need me to say. God, I want to be intentional about developing my relationships with people I already know and the new friends I will meet in this year. Please help me to appreciate the beautiful people you have already placed in my life.
Make me your hands and feet this year. Please give me your eyes to see the needs of those around me. Please help me to make everyone I come across feel valued and included no matter the similarities or differences we have.
May everything I do this year, be it work or study, be all for your glory. God, please help me to do everything with all of my might as though I were always working for you. Please help me to learn from every situation I am in. Whether I have made a colossal mistake or am experiencing success, point me back to you.
This year I want to grow in my ability to share you. Please give me new opportunities to bring others to you in this new year.
I know that I am nothing without you and that there is nothing that I can do on my own without your power. Please help me to lean on you in this new year instead of being stubborn and trying to do everything myself. Let me seek more of you and less for me.
Father, I love you and I can’t wait to see you when you come and take me home.
