So, I finally bought my first designer handbag, Gucci, on my birthday last year. For someone who had studied Fashion Design and wanted a career in it, this was the moment I had been looking forward too for a while. Owning a designer bag!! I had studied several high-end designers and this made me justify my purchase.

‘How did it feel?’

It was a quick moment of pleasure. I finally made it. When you walk into ‘those’ stores, you are automatically judged. I even prayed that my experience in the store would be a nice one. By the grace of God, I got the loveliest sales consultant.

‘What is something you have always wanted?’

‘In return, how did it feel when you finally got it?’

These things that we want so much don’t make us look any different nor change the way God has uniquely made us. What really matters- is who you truly believe you are and not what past labels or anything else for that matter say you are.

I am not Rose, the one who got sexually abused at 8 years of age
I am not Rose, the chubby teenager who got bullied in high school
I am not Rose, the one who has a degree

I am ROSE who has been HEALED, RESTORED, and SAVED BY THE KING OF KINGS. The one who has made me FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY.

In him is my IDENTITY.
