Why must life be so complicated?
Why must it be so overdone?
We’re addicted to the drama
And lose sight of the fun
It hurts to be in two minds
To have no sense of clarity
The struggle becomes unbearable
And seems to only end in tragedy
We imagine all the possibilities
The many ways things could go
We way up the pros and cons
And yet try to take things slow
It’s a disease to our mind
Overthinking
We become prisoners
And escape in dreaming
Surely there’s a way to break this cycle
Where anxiety no longer takes the lead
Where the unknown can become a friend
And much less of a foe
I look forward to breaking through
To a level of courage
That’s purer and true
To the freedom my soul is due
My love, take heart and come to Me
For I have all the answers that you seek
Be still
Embrace the quiet
Sit with the pain
Don’t be afraid of the silence
Know your thoughts are merely uncertain
Though it seems they’ve grown into a serpent
You’re safe even in the unknown
Take a moment to breathe
And share with Me
The many thoughts that have stranded thee
I have you covered
I’ll lead you back home
Safe and sound to your heart
That I cherish alone
