shifting through
key changes
growing and
maturing over
the length of rests.
Through all the bars
the two were
intertwined,
mixing in
a beautiful
blend of
harmonies
as they carried
the melody on.
Along the way
through all the
off-key sections
they were guided
side by side.
Building upon
the echo
of the beginning.
Playing out
the score
of the composer
who listens
through it all.
