I was born in Autumn, in April,
Back then it was simple.
The days when there were no worries in the world,
Crying when hungry and I get bottled.
When choosing clothes for preschool was stressful,
Trying not to look like a fool, yet cool.
Moved to a new country,
Not easy, but quite a journey.
No choice but to adapt I suppose,
As primary school comes and goes.
Learnt a whole new language,
Did my best to manage.
Life was still easy though,
Nothing compared to what would soon follow.
Secondary school overwhelmed me,
Motivated myself just to get through.
Did my best to get good grades,
Stress and pressure still dominate.
Having to choose a career,
When things were the opposite of clear.
Ongoing uncertainty over what the next week holds,
But God always provides the scaffolds.
Through ‘autumn’ and two sombre ‘winter’ seasons,
I find myself in springtime with new ambitions.
No doubt more wintery blasts will come,
With God on your side, anything can be overcome.
He gives you His eternal love and peace,
Like a continuous supply of solace.
Winter, Autumn, Spring or Summer,
Lord, all seasons to you I surrender.
