I see myself as dirty, worthless, unforgivable, hated, abandoned and nothing more than an object for someone else’s gratification. A woman caged by pornography and video games and a belief that because I am a woman, it is not a real addiction.

It is time to recognise that men and women can and do struggle with pornography. Unfortunately, it is one of the many ways that Satan attacks our relationship with God and uses it to feed his lies that you are dirty, worthless, unforgivable, hated, abandoned and much more.

Where I see:
Dirty
Worthless
Unforgivable
Abandoned
Hated
Made for someone else’s gratification.

God sees:
Clean.

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
Psalms 51:2 NKJV

Purpose.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;
I Peter 2:9 NKJV

Forgiven.

“For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.”
Psalms 86:5 NKJV

Not forsaken.

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV

God is flipping my narrative. It is not a straight path or an easy one, it has mountain-top experiences and valleys of teaching. But, there is hope.

I am grateful that how I currently see myself is the complete opposite of how God sees me.

It does not matter how you; I or others see us, our true value and identity comes only from God. This can be found in the Bible and from the people God places in our lives to flip our narratives.

Does your narrative need to be flipped?
