I sing praises to You.
The sun is shining and
my heart is full.
I can hear the birds
singing and laughter
ringing.
I sing praises to You.
The clouds are
starting to crowd in.
The hurt is
pressing in blocking
out the joy
of Your presence.
Still, I sing praises to You.
The smile on my face
has faded,
buried somewhere
deep within.
The tears spill
down my cheeks, blotting
out the words.
Still, I sing praises to You.
It’s easy to sing,
to mean every word
when all is right
and the sky is clear.
I sing praises to You.
But when the ache in
my chest gets so
heavy it weighs
my smile down so
that it doesn’t quite
reach my eyes.
Still, I sing praises to You.
Because my circumstances
do not impact Your worthiness
of praise, my Lord.
Your glory and goodness are
far greater than my understanding.
Yet You are with me through it all.
So, I will sing Your praises.
Even if, even when
the tears flow or the laughter rings.
Even when the valleys come because
You are still worthy, You are
still God.
