Love….
All around their shouting,
Cursing,
Trying to pull me down.
Further and further into their darkness.
It’s working.
All I see
Are tears.
Yours.
Theirs.
Every struggle.
Every wrong turn.
People dying.
Yet every step they take
Appears light.
As they push aside the yearning.
The need.
Ignoring.
Me.
Love….
The book on the shelf.
They pull it off.
Dust and all.
And hope rises within me.
Maybe this time they will read it.
All.
Truly read it.
But no.
It’s just that time of year.
Again.
The time to act CHIRST-ian.
When all I’ve ever wanted was
Them.
You.
No acting just.
You.
My heart aches with each
Struggled breath.
As my mind is filled with all the PAIN.
All I see is pain.
The darkness is taking over.
They sit in church each and every week.
But that’s all they do.
SIT.
Waiting and watching for something.
They are never going to see,
From where they are.
It’s so close to them yet they can’t feel it.
Feel.
Love…
Distant voices of children.
I hear weeping.
Weeping.
It grows louder and louder.
Alone in the darkness.
Thinking no one hears them.
No one knows.
No one cares.
I hear them.
Every drop.
Dripping from a broken heart
A broken world.
The darkness closes in.
All the voices,
The cries
Fading.
Drip, Drop.
Silence…
Love….
Gasping for breath
I awaken.
The pain has stopped.
But my heart aches.
Aches for all:
Those I saw crying,
Those turning and running in the wrong direction
Those trying but not.
Those sitting.
YOU.
My heart aches for you.
