What is worship?
Is it a feeling?
Is worship a time of the day or week?
Is it the presence of the lord we seek?
Is it a song?
Or a prayer?
Is it thankfulness for Gods mercy his love and care?
A daily choice?
A way of life?
Is it some or all of these above?
What is worship?
What’s its form?
Is it something different from the norm?
Is it praise?
Or a phrase?
A creed?
Or a tune?
Is it something done once or twice a week?
Or should it be the constant presence of the lord we need to seek?
What is worship?
I hear you say?
When we know that Jesus is the only way
Jesus came, died and rose from the grave
In clouds of glory
We wait for his return
It’s a joy that bubbles over
A way of life
The central theme
Our identity…
It’s infectious
Not rebellious
It’s the Holy Spirit that lives in you and me
It’s a fire
It’s a flame
A beacon
Seen by all around
Can’t be quenched
Or put out
Often makes us jump and shout!!
It’s a calling
A command
It’s all we can do when at Gods’ throne we stand
It’s a longing
A slice of heaven
Just a taste
This is worship
It’s all of these things and so much more
Praising, singing, sharing, living
With the friend and King that we adore
On bended knees
In simple supplication
Longing for the glory of his throne
This is worship
So stand, lift your hands and shout amen! If you agree
Let’s all praise our God together
And invite him in to live in you and me.
