Even though the fridge is empty
and the pantry shelves are bare;
even though the rates keep rising
and the fuel prices are insane;
even though the drought drags on
then floods plunder the earth…

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!

Even though the news is doom and gloom
and anxiety is rising;
even though the rat race is flat-out
and we tread the ‘mill’ non-stop;
even though we’re surrounded by people
and still alone…

Yet we can rejoice in the Lord!
We can be joyful in the God of our salvation!

For He alone is good.
He alone gives joy and
true peace that passes understanding.
Love without condition.

We do not see the end from the beginning…

But He does… and that is why we can say,
because of His unending love and goodness…

Yet we will rejoice in the Lord!
We will be joyful in the God of our salvation!
He makes us as sure-footed as a deer, able to tread upon the heights!
