In this our oh so busy world,
Stopping can be hard,
The things that we just have to do,
The jobs we can’t discard.
We get so wrapped up in ourselves,
The burdens that we bear,
That we let our troubles rule us,
And give in to despair.
At last we look to God, desperate,
‘You know we love You more!’
But if we really love Him so,
Shouldn’t He come before?
To put God first is very hard,
Harder than it may seem,
It means to let your whole life go,
And give up all your schemes.
But He is something so much more,
Than man can comprehend,
His perfect love and endless grace,
He is the perfect friend.
And so it all comes down to love,
To truly put Him first,
To want Him more than anything,
And act to fill that thirst.
To tell Him ‘Jesus I want you,
Turn me to You again.
Help me to make You first of all,
Thank you, Lord. Amen’
